Chamber music has been the novelty of the year.

Donostia-San Sebastian Piano Contest, and the winner has been the
19-year-old Armenian Ani Aydinyan. This piano player has won the first
prize in the superior modality, the most important in the contest. The
prize is euro1,000 and the chance to play at the Matinees de Miramon
season organised by the Symphonic Orchestra of Euskadi.
The contest has included different modalities, but the main novelty of
the year has been Chamber Music. Five couples have taken part in this
last section and the winners have been the French Matthieu Stefanelli
(piano) and Julien Lazignac (violoncello).
In the Medium 3 modality the winner has been the 17-year-old youth
from Zaragoza Patricia Garcia Gil. The second award has been for
the only Gipuzkoan in the contest, IƱar Saste Lopetegi. This young
woman has also won the scholarship of the Enrique Lartundo Foundation:
euro650 to enrol in improvement courses. Eventually, the third post
has been for Janire Fuentes Asensio, from Bilbao.
