The birth of Blessed Virgin Mary is not described in the Bible. The
story became known from evangelical sources only.
"The Blessed Virgin's parents - Anna and Joachim - did not have
children for a long time. Once Anna went to the garden and there
an angel sent by God told her she will have a daughter and all the
peoples of the world will envy her." This the first part of Saint
Mary's birthday. She was the only to be granted the name of Blessed
Virgin by God.
"She was virtuous and pious mother and became the embodiment of family
hearth keeper. She serves as an example for each Armenian mother or
woman who is going to give birth to a child", the Armenian Apostolic
Church instructs.
On September 8 the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrated the birth of
Blessed Virgin Mary.
