EU READY TO EASE SHENGEN VISA PROCEDURES

"Recently citizens of Armenia, particularly the business community,
have problems with the permission to cross the border of Shengen
countries," Karen Tchshmarityan, minister of finance and economy,
told a press conference today.
In his words, the Armenian side pinpointed to this problem at the
7th gathering of Armenia -European Union Cooperation Committee which
was held on October 25 in Brussels. The delegation of the European
side assured that the issue will be discussed with the respective
department of the international unit.
Tchshmarityan noted that Broader Europe: New Neighborhood project
promises lighter visa procedures in Shengen countries but the current
situation does not comply with that policy.
