HIS HOLINESS ARAM I CONGRATULATES
THE NEW SPIRITUAL LEADER OF THE DRUZE
His Holiness Aram I appointed a special delegation headed by the
Primate of the Diocese of Lebanon, Bishop Kegham Khatcherian, to
congratulate the new spiritual leader of the Lebanese Druze community.
The delegation, including V. Rev. Fr. Norayr Ashekian, Rev. Fr. Torkom
Donoyan and Dr. Jean Salmanian, visited the Druze headquarters in
Beirut on November 9. The delegates conveyed His Holiness Aram I's
congratulation to the newly elected leader of the Druze community,
Judge Sheikh Naim Hassan and his wishes for brotherly love and
cooperation between the different communities in Lebanon.
The two sides discussed the relationship between the Armenian and
Druze communities. Both Sheikh Naim Hassan and the Armenian Primate
stressed the importance of going beyond coexistence to cooperation.
