ARMENIA-CHINA TRADE TURNOVER GROWS SEVERAL TIMES IN RECENT YEARS

YEREVAN, August 7. /ARKA/. The volume of trade turnover between
Armenia and China grew several times in the recent years, said Armenian
President Serge Sargsyan said in his exclusive written interview to
Sinhua Agency.
One of the biggest joint projects - construction of Shansi-Nairit
chloroprene rubber factory with an annual output of 30,000 tons dear
Daton town - is to be completed soon, the President said. He also
pointed out developments recorded in agriculture, high technologies
and humanitarian field.
Long-term sports and cultural projects are being elaborated,
Sargsyan said.
He also said Armenia will try to demonstrate both its achievements
and potential for cooperation in the EXPO-2010 exhibition to be held
in Shanhai.
Armenia-China cooperation is based on over 40 interstate and
intergovernmental agreements.
Armenian President considered the country's political relations with
China as not having any problems and involving close approaches on
regional and international issues.
Armenia is watching closely the modernization reforms, as well as
development of dynamic socialistic society by the leadership of the
Chinese People's Republic, Sargsyan said.
In January-June, Armenia's turnover with China totaled $148.2mln -
an 87.8% increase. Armenia's exports to China was $752,100 (26.2%
increase), imports - $147.4mln (88.3% increase).
