    TIGRAN L. PETROSIAN AND SIRANUSH ANDRIASIAN CONTINUE TO TOP POINTS
    TABLES AT ARMENIA'S HIGHEST GROUP CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS

    YEREVAN, JANUARY 18, NOYAN TAPAN. Games of the 8th round of Men's
    Highest Group Championship of Armenia took place on January 16. Karen
    Asrian beat Tigran L. Petrosian who, however, tops the points table
    with 6 points. Smbat Lputian beat Levon Babujanian and is in 2nd place
    with 5.5 points. Samvel Ter-Sahakian beat Artashes Minasian and is in
    3rd place with 5 points. Ara Minasian has 4.5 points, while 3 other
    players earned 4 points each.

    At the 4th round of Women's Chess Championship, Siranish Andriasian
    beat Liana Aghabekian and continues to top the points table with 3.5
    points. Nelli Aghinian beat Lia Martirosian and is in 2nd place with
    2.5 points. 3 players - Mariana Gasprian, Narine Gasparian and Anahit
    Kharatian are in 3-5 places with 2 points each.
