The gathering organized by the powers supporting Levon Ter-Petrosyan's
candidature was launched just some minutes ago. Despite the cold
climate, the Square is crowded. The Leader of the "Aylyntrank"
(Alternative) initiative Nikol Pashinyan stated that yesterday's
visit to the regions and today's crowded gathering testify that Levon
Ter-Petrosyan was not the opposition candidate, but the nation's
candidate.
The Chairman of the "People's Party of Armenia" Stepan Demirchyan
mentioned in his speech that people's enthusiastic welcome proved that
something had changed and the people hoped that they could celebrate
their victory headed by the First President. Stepan Demirchyan
declared that he agreed with Robert Kocharyan that the elections
would be concluded in one stage and: "Levon Ter-Petrsoyan will win
in the first stage".
People from Talin, Gyumri, Artashat, Armavir and Spitak participate
in the gathering today. Other supporters, who have arrived in Yerevan
from regions, hold posters written "The Armenian Nation Has Stood Up".
