ARMENIA TO PARTICIPATE IN UNESCO PROJECTS TO SOLVE PROBLEMS ON INTRODUCTION OF INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES

YEREVAN, January 25. /ARKA/. Armenia, together with other post-Soviet
countries, will participate in UNESCO projects on solving the problems
related to introduction of innovative technologies, the President
of Armenia's State Committee for Science Samvel Harutiunian said
at the discussion of the problems at the country's National Academy
of Sciences.
During the discussion UNESCO expert and parliamentarian from Finland
Markku Markkula presented the experience of his country that is a
leader in IT sphere.
The President of Armenia's National Academy of Sciences Radik
Martirosian, in his turn, pointed out that economic entities in Armenia
are not prepared for application of innovative technologies due to high
risks. He also reported creation of a special department in the Academy
to bridge the outcome of scientific research with economic entities.
Among participants at the discussion were directors of the institutes
of the Academy, government officials and representatives of
international funds.
