JOINT EXERCISES "RUBEZH 2008" START IN YEREVAN

The first stage of CSTO joint command and staff exercises "Rubezh 2008"
starts in Yerevan today.
Delegations of the participant-countries, representatives of different
governmental agencies of Armenia, including Ministry of Emergency
Situations, National Security Service and Police, observers, including
the military attaches of the foreign countries' embassies accredited
in Armenia took part in the session held in the House of Receipts of
RA government.
The first three stages of exercises will be of theoretical nature
and be held in the ministries and governmental agencies of Armenia
at the command post of CSTO United headquarters and the command post
of the Combined force.
The fourth stage of exercises will be of practical nature, it will
be held in the territory of Training Center on August 18- 22. Upon
completion of exercises, the session of the Council of Ministers of
CSTO participant-countries will be held in Yerevan. It is envisaged
that about 4000 military men and civil specialists will participate
in the exercises.
