    AMENDMENTS TO RA CONSTITUTION OF 2005 WHICH ASSURE LACK OF JURISDICTION OF EX- PRESIDENT FORCE OPPOSITION TO SEARCH FOR JUSTICE IN HAGUE

    Amendments to RA Constitution of 2005, which assure lack of
    jurisdiction of ex-President Robert Kocharyan, force the opposition
    to search for justice in Hague, Chairman of the Union of political
    scientists of Armenia Hamayak Hovhannisyan told journalists. 'It is not
    a secret that adoption of amendments, advocated by Robert Kocharyan,
    in particular, Article 56.1, exempts ex-president from liability for
    his deeds in a period of his presidency', he said.

    H. Hovhannisyan thinks that it would be more correct 'not to wash dirty
    linen in public' and start judicial proceedings against R. Kocharyan
    just in Armenia, however, the afore- mentioned amendment deprives
    the opposition of this opportunity.

    'By adoption of amendments , we doomed ourselves to use of services
    of Hague tribunal. Some Pharisees say that Azerbaijan tries to use
    it for its purposes, however, the opposition has no alternative in
    this situation', H.
