SERZH SARGSYAN: CELEBRATION OF 650TH ANNIVERSARY OF SURB KHACH MONASTERY HAS BECOME AN EVENT UNITING ALL OF US

ArmInfo. 'Celebration of the 650th Anniversary of Surb Khach Monastery
has become an event uniting all of us', President of Armenia Serzh
Sargsyan said at the celebration of the monastery located in the
Crimea. The Armenian President left for the Crimea especially on the
given occasion.
The presidential press-service reports that Armenian President asked
his Ukrainian counterpart Viktor Yuschenko to contribute to the
monument's inclusion into the UNESCO Heritage List. Serzh Sargsyan
said that together with V. Yuschenko they discussed the importance
of preservation of the national monument on July 29 at lunch in
Simferopol. 'I offered President of Ukraine Viktor Yuschenko to
instruct our foreign ministries to make joint steps to include Surb
Khach Monastery in UNESCO heritage List', Sargsyan.
He said that three Armenian monuments in the territory of Iran have
already been included in the UNESCO Heritage List.
