HUNGER-STRIKE CONTINUES IN YERABLUR
[04:28 pm] 29 May, 2008
Eleven Artsakh War veterans have been on a hunger
strike in Yerablur for three days already. They demand
that the political prisoners be released and the terms
of PACE Resolution 1609 be fulfilled.
Most of the hunger strikers are members of the
-Hanrapetutyun- (Republic) Party; the others are
Yerkrapah Volunteers.
As one of the hunger strikers Karo Hakobian informed
-A1+-, several policemen visited the hunger strikers
today and tried to define their identity. In reply,
the strikers showed the newspaper publications with
their names and occupations. Afterwards some of the
policemen left while others stayed to watch the
strikers.
By the way, Karo was in a bad state. He could hardly
speak.
