The Committee on Foreign Affairs of the US Senate will convene a
hearing on June 19, regarding Mary Jovanovich's candidacy as the US
Ambassador to Armenia.
We should remind you that on March 28 US President George Bush
officially nominated M. Jovanovich's candidacy in the position
of the US Ambassador to Armenia. As we were informed from ARFD
Washington Office of Armenian Cause they asked the members of the
Committee on Foreign Affairs of the US Senate to address questions
to Mary Jovanovich regarding the Genocide of Armenians, as well as
the continuous attempts of Azerbaijan and Turkey to keep Armenia
in isolation, and the efforts of the USA to achieve democratic and
peaceful settlement of Karabakh.
