NA ADOPTS A STATAMENT ON ACCOMPLISHEMNT OF PACE RESOLUTION

With 80 pro and 4 con votes and 2 abstentions the National Assembly
today adopted a statement on the accomplishment of the PACE Resolution
1609.
Member of the Heritage faction voted against.
The documents points to the steps undertaken in the direction of
accomplishment of the resolution. In its statement the National
Assembly notes that implementation of the Resolution's provisions are
directed towards the deepening of democracy in Armenia, improvement
of the national legislation, protection of human rights and freedoms
and ensuring stability in the country. It is noted that after the
adoption of the resolution, concrete steps have been taken in the
direction of accomplishing all its provisions of the resolution and
consistent works will continue.
The National Assembly also adopted the draft law on the Structure
of RA Government at first reading. The second and third readings are
also expected to be held during the extraordinary session.
