RUSSIA, ARMENIA HOLD HIGH-LEVEL TALKS IN KREMLIN

    Interfax News Agency
    June 24 2008
    Russia

Russian and Armenian president, Dmitry Medvedev and Serzh Sargsyan,
respectively, are meeting in the Kremlin on Tuesday.

The talks have begun from the presidents' one-on-one meeting and will
later continue with participation of the two countries. Following
their meeting the presidents are expected to sign a joint statement
covering a broad range of Russian-Armenian issues.

Among the key issues discussed between Medvedev and Sargsyan are the
prospects for economic relations between both countries, the situation
in the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement process and coordination in the
foreign policy steps in light of Armenia's forthcoming chairmanship
in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), a source in
    the Kremlin told Interfax.

Sargsyan is one of the first CIS leaders to arrive in Russia on a
formal visit. At the same time, the new Armenian president met twice
with Medvedev since his election as Russian president: on March 24
and June 6, 2008. Sargsyan attended informal CIS summits in Moscow
    and St.Petersburg.
