Strasbourg. Fuad Gulubeyli -APA. Parliamentary Assembly of the
Council of Europe finalized extraordinary hearings on the activity
    of democratic institutions in Armenia.

Fulfillment of the PACE resolution 1609 on Armenia adopted on April
17 was discussed at the meeting, APA European bureau reports. Some
parliamentarians attended the discussions demanded to allow time
to Armenia to fulfill recommendations made in the resolution until
January 2009. Co-rapporteurs said Armenia didn't made enough efforts
towards the activity of the democratic institutions in arrears. They
welcomed progresses made in a short time and expressed their hopes
that Armenia would take necessary steps on the way of democracy and
called on to adopt the resolution in the present form. At the end
of discussions the resolution was adopted with 27 changes and PACE
allowed to Armenia to meet its demands until January 2009.
