With 24 votes in favor, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of
Europe adopted a resolution on Armenia, which obliged the country
to fulfill all PACE obligations till January 2009. Otherwise, the
authority of the Armenian delegation in PACE may be suspended.
The resolution calls on Armenia to release the arrested persons whose
guilt was not established, with exception for those privy to murders
committed on March 1. The Armenian government is recommended to
pass a law on amnesty. Besides, the resolution calls not to prevent
conduction of rallies and demonstration. The opposition is called
upon to secure peaceful actions.
