Urgent Measures Taken in Center Community of Yerevan
According to the task of the President of the Republic of Armenia
Robert Kocharian urgent measures were taken to amend the damages
caused to the Capital during March 1 vandalism and restore the normal
functioning of the urban infrastructures.
Yesterday First Deputy-Mayor of Yerevan Kamo Areyan informed
the reports that the Yerevan City Hall building has been fully
repaired. The repair cost 3 million 68 thousand drams. According to
the arrangement with the House of Moscow administration, the Yerevan
City Hall also purchased the materials for the restoration of the
House of Moscow building.,
>From the Liberty Square and Yerevan City Hall Square 408 cubic
meters of rubble and litter was removed. In total, 2 million 200
thousand drams was spent on restoration measures in those areas. The
functioning of the public transport has been restored on the territory
of the whole city. Social institutions as school, universities, and
hospitals have recommenced their usual activity on the territories
evolved in the disturbances.
The Deputy Mayor informed that a number of ambulance cars were also
damaged by the rallying mob. He said that the final appraisal of the
damages done on March 1 is still to be made. The official information
