ARMENIAN AUTHORITIES SEIZE ILLEGAL WEAPONS FROM RELATIVE OF JAILED MP

The National Security Service of Armenia has issued a statement saying
that illegal ammunition has been seized from a nephew of an opposition
MP, 168 Zham newspaper reported on 20 March.
The security service's statement said illegal ammunition, including
a home-made gun, was found in facilities owned by Sos Gevorgyan,
the nephew of arrested MP Sasun Mikaelyan. The search measures were
part of the probe into the mass unrest that followed the 19 February
presidential election, the National Security Service reported.
Sasun Mikaelyan was arrested on 12 March. Sos Gevorgyan has been
under arrest since 3 March, on charges of violating articles 235 and
300 of the Criminal Code, illegal possession of weapons and actions
aimed at seizing power, the statement said.
