ARMENIA MUST REVEAL OWN ADVANTAGES TO FORM FINANCIAL CENTER: PRIME MINISTER

YEREVAN, May 26. /ARKA/. Armenia must reveal its own advantages
to form a financial center, RA Prime Minister said Saturday at a
financial-banking conference in Dilijan. According to the Premier,
Armenia's President has set ambitious goals.
Sargsian was quoted as saying: "I agree with the President that
we are ready to achieve these goals, and we must share opinions at
this conference on the advantages of establishing a business center,
taking into account the world experience."
The Prime Minister pointed out six main directions towards revealing
the country's advantages. He called on to join efforts in improving
weak points.
The Prime Minister said Armenia must learn how to offer financial and
deposit services to issuers in the region, as well as how to manage
investments and asset funds, offer Islamic financial services, carry
out effective reforms and provide Armenians all over the world with
financial services.
Sargsian stressed the importance of market participants in Armenia. He
called on to organize discussions on the implementation of these
programs.
RA President, Prime Minister, management of the Central Bank of
Armenia, as well as largest market participant of Armenia participated
in the first financial-banking conference in Dilijan. The organizer
of the event was the Union of Bank of Armenia. The purpose of the
conference was to discuss the further development of the country's
financial and banking sector, as well as its role in development
programs.
