THE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CALOUSTE GULBENKIAN FOUNDATION VISITS ANTELIAS
His Holiness Aram I received the Trustee of the Gulbenkian Foundation and
responsible for the UK branch and Armenian Communities Department, Mr.
Martin Yesayan. Accompanying Mr. Yesayan were his spouse Mrs. Tracy Marie
Glazer Yesayan and Dr. Zaven Yegavian, Director of the Armenian Communities
Department of Gulbenkian Foundation.
His Holiness commended the important contribution of the Gulbenkian
Foundation to the mission of the Armenian School and the advancement of
Armenian cultural values. Referring to the long-standing cooperation between
the Catholicosate of Cilicia and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, His
Holiness expressed hope that the Foundation will continue to support
Armenian education and the development of Armenian culture. The Pontiff also
praised Dr. Zaven Yegavian, who is well acquainted with Armenian culture and
the needs of Armenian schools and tries to ensure that the Foundation's
services are productive.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Yesayan are His Holiness' guests. They will stay in
Lebanon for three days, during which they will pay visits to national and
educational institutions.
