SESSIONS OF COUNCILS OF FOREIGN MINISTERS AND HEADS OF CIS COUNTRIES TO TAKE PLACE OCTOBER 9-10

BISHKEK, SEPTEMBER 23, ARMENPRESS: The regular sessions of the council
of foreign ministers and council of heads of the CIS countries will
take place in Bishkek October 9-10, press service of the Kyrgyz
Foreign Ministry reported.
Currently the council of the heads of the CIS countries is being
chaired by President of Kyrgyzstan K. Bakiyev and the council of
foreign ministers by Kyrgyz Foreign Minister E. Karabayev.
The leaders of all the CIS countries are expected to participate in
the summit. The agenda includes drafts of 18 documents. One of the
important issues which will be discussed is the project of strategy
of economic development of the CIS which is called to support the
harmonious development of the economic life of the member countries,
stable development of economy, ensuring employment of citizens,
increase of the level of livelihood of the people.
The leaders of the countries are expected to adopt a document by
which the energy sector will be declared the sphere of partnership
among the CIS countries in 2009.
The agenda of the session of the council of the foreign ministers of
CIS member countries includes 26 issues.
