OVERALL EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SITUATION IN ARMENIA CALM

Liana Torosian, chief specialist of the State Hygienic and
Anti-Epidemiological Inspection of the Health Ministry in charge
of infectious and non-infectious diseases, said today the overall
epidemiological situation in Armenia is calm and under control.
'Our daily surveillance of the situation shows that the epidemiological
situation in the country is calm and there are no grounds for concern,'
she said to ARKA news agency.
She said prompted by the challenges of the global epidemiological
situation the Inspection shifted on May 1, 2009 from weekly monitoring
of the situation of the influenza to daily observations.
In January-June Armenian doctors registered 141 cases of flu and
78,700 cases of acute respiratory diseases.
