Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Greece backs negotiation process within the OSCE
Minsk Group on Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict settlement and hopes
that the parties will achieve progress in a way of talks.
Greek ambassador Ioannis Metaksas says that mechanism existing in
the OSCE for conflict settlement is Minsk Group, and that is why as
the OSCE chairing country in 2009 we would like to continue efforts
on conflict settlement within OSCE Minsk Gorup this year as well.
The fact that OSCE MG co-chairs are working directly with leaderships
of the conflict parties is estimated by the ambassador as a positive
fact. According to Mr.Metaksas, these negotiations involve personal
representative of OSCE chairman-in-office who informs in details
about the course of talks.
"We support fully and estimate positively the negotiation process
and hope that the sides will reach agreement on conflict settlement
in a way of negotiations," Mr. Metaksas said.
