MOTORWAY TO CONNECT ARMENIA TO GEORGIAN BLACK SEA

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) envisages allotting USD 1 million
for carrying out a feasibility study for a projected motorway which
would connect Armenia with the Georgian Black Sea coast. This issue was
discussed during a meeting between the President of ADB and Minister
of Transport and Communications Gurgen Sarkisian. Tranches of funds
will be allotted gradually.
Minister Sarkisian highlighted the importance of the motorway for
Armenia as a means of transporting goods. ADB is also interested in
constructing Iran-Armenia railways.
