Armenia is planning to send its troops to Afghanistan, the country's
Defense Minister Seyran Oganian told Interfax.
"We were able to complete our peacekeeping mission in Iraq and were
highly praised by international organizations and the command units,
in which our peacekeepers served. Apart from Iraq, our peacekeepers
are also present in Kosovo. Currently, we are in discussion to send
a small contingent to Afghanistan," he said.
"I think that as a part of the world that is now building a security
structure, we too must make our own contribution in providing this
security," Oganian said.
