INTERNAL MONITORING IMPLEMENTED AT AKHALKALAK SCHOOL N4
NOYAN TAPAN
JULY 2, 2009
AKHALKALAK
AKHALKALAK, JULY 2, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. An internal
monitoring (checking) was held the other day among the teachers' staff
of Akhalkalak D. Demirchian Armenian public school N4. The pedagogues
themselves estimated during the monitoring their professional activity
during the whole school year. As A-Info was informed by the Akhalkalak
Educational Resource Center, holding of such a monitoring was not
obligatory for all schools of the region, but was held by wish.
Special standards were given to all teachers participating in the
monitoring. According to the these standards, the latters estimated
their activity by 3-point system. Expressions like, for example,
"I ask questions during a lesson," "I ask additional questions to a
pupil if he finds it difficult to answer a question," "I criticize
the pupil for a wrong answer," etc. were also presented in the
self-appraisal table, the issue if the given pedagogue uses right
methods for a proper organization of classes depended on the choice
of the variants (never, seldom, often, regularly) of answers given
to the above mentioned questions.
Participants of the monitoring on the teachers' self-appraisal
positively estimated organization and implementation of the
initiative. Some of them mentioned that such an event in the issue of
self-checking was really interesting and desirable, especially as the
standards were given in Armenian and were available for everybody,
in a easily understood variant.
