ArmInfo. Certain time will pass and the relations between Armenians
and Azerbaijanis will turn out well, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to
Russia Polad Bul-Bul Ogli told journalists in Stepanakert today.
'Unfortunately, today journalists from both countries create the
image of an enemy. It is very harmful especially taking into account
that the press is the forth power. Today one should persuade people
in the necessity of living like kind neighbours and reaching out of
helping hand to each other. Next year we shall celebrate the 65th
anniversary of the Great Victory over the fascism. Armenians and
Azerbaijanis were fighting shoulder to shoulder against the common
enemy in that war', - the ambassador said and added that in this
context both peoples should understand that if earlier they used
to do something together, they can do the same today. Asked if the
Azerbaijani party ready to make specific steps for improvement of the
bilateral relations, in particular, to remove snipers from the line
of contact between the armed forces of Azerbaijan and the NKR, the
ambassador replied that snipers should be removed from both parties:
from the Azerbaijani as well as Armenian, and Azerbaijan is ready to
remove snipers. Asked by ArmInfo correspondent what specific steps
they are going take in the social and cultural format, he replied:
'Why today Armenians and Azerbaijanis may live together in Russia,
create and hold business together, but they cannot do the same at
this small part of the land! I understand, there is a very complex
heritage, but we should pass through it and overcome it. Time is a
great healer.' The ambassador also added that today a new generation
is growing in Armenia and Azerbaijan which should not inherit what
happened between the two nations.
