AZERBAIJAN LIKELY TO SUBMIT A NEW RESOLUTION ON KARABAKH TO THE UN

Azerbaijani continues to work over the resolution on the
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement which the country has submitted to
the United Nations Organization, Azerbaijani Permanent Representative
to UN Agshin Mehdiyev told journalists at the international conference
on the 90th anniversary of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on July 8,
Trend News reported.
"Perhaps, a new resolution will be submitted or work will continue
over the previous resolution," Mehdiyev said.
In March 2008, the UN General Assembly in the resolution 62/243 called
upon the member states and international and regional organizations "to
effectively assist in the process of resolving the conflict within its
competence". It asked the Secretary General to submit a comprehensive
report on the implementation of this resolution to the 63rd session.
