DIMITRIS CHRISTOFIAS: CYPRUS HAS ALWAYS SUPPORTED ARMENIA IN ISSUE OF RECOGNITION OF GENOCIDE

YEREVAN, JULY 8, NOYAN TAPAN. President of Cyprus Dimitris Christofias
being in Armenia on a two-day state visit, on July 7, accompanied
by Yerevan Mayor Gagik Beglarian visited Yerevan History Museum,
got acquainted with the exhibits. "I have a deep impression and I am
very happy for a warm reception, I feel myself here like at home as
Armenia is a hospitable country. I am convinced that our countries'
relations will be warmer and closer," the President of Cyprus wrote
in the impressions book of Yerevan Mayor's Office.
The same day the President of Cyprus met with RA Prime Minister Tigran
Sargsian. Issues related to development of cooperation between the
two countries in the economic, cultural, and tourism spheres were
discussed during the meeting.
D. Christofias also visited Tsitsernakaberd, laid a wreath to
the memorial to Armenian Genocide victims, planted a tree in the
Commemoration Park.
"Cyprus has always supported Armenia in the issue of recognition of
the Genocide," the President of Cyprus wrote in the register of the
Genocide Museum.
