OSCE MEDIATOR SAYS AZERBAIJAN REFUSES TO REMOVE SNIPERS FROM CONTACT LINE

Yerevan, 8 July: OSCE Minsk Group Russian co-chair Yuriy Merzlyakov
stated in Yerevan today that the Azerbaijani leadership had turned
down the proposal of the mediators to withdraw snipers from the
contact line of the sides.
Mediamax reports that the Russian mediator stated that Armenia and
Nagornyy Karabakh gave consent to the withdrawal of snipers, but the
Azerbaijani side refused.
French Co-chair Bernard Fassier noted that the co-chairs will continue
talks concerning this issue with the leadership of Azerbaijan.
