Yerevan festival to screen Iranian films

    Sat, 11 Jul 2009 13:23:40 GMT

Iranian feature-length and short films are set to be screened at the
6th edition of the Yerevan International Film Festival in Armenia.

Ramtin Lavvafipour's award-winning Calm Down and Count to Seven will
participate in the event's International Competition section, while
Maryam Esmikhani's Wind Blows from Wherever It Wants will be screened
at the festival's Golden Apricot MasterSchool of Cinema.

The annual event will also screen Varuj Karim Massihi's Hesitation and
Robert Safarian's Tehran in Photographs in its Armenian Panorama
    section.

The festival will open on July 12, 2009, with French filmmaker Laurent
Tuel's Inside Ring and will run until July 19.

Many Iranian films have been screened at the Yerevan International
Film Festival since it was established in the Armenian capital in
    2004.

The 5th edition of the festival granted its lifetime achievements
award to world-renowned Iranian filmmaker Dariush Mehrjui in 2008.
