YEREVAN, JULY 17, ARMENPRESS: An apricot harvest of 82 000 tonnes is
expected in the republic for this year instead of the 80 000 of the
last year.
During today's press conference the deputy Agriculture Minister Samvel
Galstian informed that this year only in the Armavir province for
4-5 000 tonnes more harvest has been recorded.
According to the deputy minister 11 230 tonnes of harvest has already
been exported instead of the 6,910 of the same period last year. 7,058
tonnes have been exported to Russia, 3,304 - to Georgia, 814 - Ukraine,
54 tonnes - to Belarus, and 200 kilos - to Belgium.
S. Galstian informed that as of today the procession factories of the
republic have already purveyed 2,859 tonnes of apricot; last year's
purveyance volumes reached 6,100 tonnes. S. Galstian noted that the
export volumes have increased contrary to the purveyance volumes.
According to the deputy agriculture minister the Armenian exporters
are having serious problems because of the close of the "Upper Lars"
check point. In case the check point opens greater amount of harvest
will be possible to be exported.
