JAPAN SUPPORTS THE ARMENIA-TURKEY NORMALIZATION PROCESS

The newly appointed Ambassador of Japan to Armenia, Masaharu Kohno,
presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.
Congratulating the Ambassador on assuming office, President Sargsyan
said Armenia was interested in deepening multifaceted relations with
Japan. Serzh Sargsyan expressed gratitude to the Government of Japan
for the assistance rendered to Armenia ever since independence.
Accoridng to Serzh Sargsyan, there is still much to be done in the
field of development of bilateral economic relations. President
Sargsyan attached importance to the visit of the Armenian Foreign
Minister to Tokyo, saying it will provide an opportunity to continue
the political dialogue and discus the perspectives of development of
cooperation in different spheres.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the normalization of the
Armenian-Turkish relations. The Ambassador said the Government of
Japan fully supports the process.
