malnutrition in Armenia

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ As part of activities dedicated to 20th anniversary
of ratification of UN Convention on Children's Rights by Armenia
discussions passed at the United Nations office. One of the programs
of UNICEF implemented in Armenia is aimed to fight child malnutrition.
According to the representative of health ministry of Armenia Karine
Saribekyan, the RA government and the health ministry recently
organized discussions on reducing the number of children suffering
from malnutrition. As a result of discussions, prime minister Tigran
Sargsyan established a council, which will work to improve the
situation of children suffering from malnutrition.
"Only 5% of children suffer from malnutrition in Armenia. Out of six
children under 5 one has declining growth due to malnutrition in the
country. The Ministry of Health jointly with UNICEF is currently
implementing a program to increase micronutrients in flour, " Karine
Saribekyan said, answering the question of PanARMENIAN.Net.
