The Turkish government's decision to open the border with Armenia
contrary to Baku's interests could cost Turkey the loss of Azerbaijan,
an Azeri presidential administration official said.
"The policy, pursued by Azerbaijan, has never challenged Turkey's
interests. We, too, want Turkey not to go against Azerbaijan's
interests. But if it does, this government will lose Azerbaijan,"
Ali Gasanov, a senior presidential advisor, told representatives of
the Azeri and Turkish communities in Germany on Saturday.
Azerbaijan does not oppose the opening of all borders in the region,
he said. But this must only be done after Armenian troops pull out
from Azeri territory, Gasanov said.
