MEETING OF HEADS OF CIS MEMBER STATES OF INTERNATIONAL TELECOMMUNICATION UNION BE HELD IN MINSK ON NOVEMBER 26-27

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 23, NOYAN TAPAN. A meeting of heads of the CIS
member states of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
will be held in Minsk, the capital city of Belarus, on November
26-27. On November 25, the delegation headed by Armenian Minister of
Transport and Communication Gurgen Sargsyan along with other heads
of the respective ministries of CIS member states will participate
in the preparation for the high-level meeting.
Spokeswoman for the RA minister of transport and communiction Susanna
Tonoyan said that the meeting will provide heads of state and private
organizations, as well as international and regional bodies with the
opportunity to establish new practical relations.
The purpose of the meeting of the heads of CIS member states of the ITU
is to mobilize human, financial and technical resources for the rapid
introduction of digital infrastructure and services in the region,
which will be of great significance for the socioeconomic development,
also to promote the widespread use of the Internet and increase the
opportunities of communication in rural areas.
