Under the joint chairmanship of Mr. Artur Baghdasaryan, Secretary of
the National Security Council, and H.E. Raul de Luzenberger, Head of
Delegation of the European Commission, the European Union Advisory
Group to Armenia held its Second Steering Committee Meeting on 20
    October 2009.

Several Ministers and Vice Ministers, Heads and Deputy Heads of
Government Institutions participated from the Armenian side. The
EU Advisory Group was represented by its Team Leader and individual
Advisors, assisting different Ministries in the broad fields of Good
Governance and Sustainable Economic Development. The Meeting was also
attended by a number of representatives of Embassies of EU Member
    States and from International Organizations.

The EU Advisory Group currently comprises ten international Advisors.

Six more will be recruited shortly.

During the meeting a dialogue between the Armenian side and the EU
Advisory Group evolved on the Group's current work and its planned
activities during the next half year.

The EU Advisory Group highly valued the guidance received from the
Armenian Representatives and would continue to put all its means to
the disposal of the reform process of the Armenian Government.

After having reviewed the report of the EU Advisory Group for the
second quarter 2009, the Meeting noted the report with appreciation
for the work performed during that period.

The Meeting further considered and approved the work plan of the EU
Advisory Group for the period October 2009 to March 2010. The work
plan is indicative and can be adjusted to changing circumstances
    during implementation.

The Meeting welcomed the initiative to place interns with the
EU Advisory Group in order to give young university graduates an
opportunity to get acquainted with EU policies and best practices.

    Details will be elaborated.
