WINNERS OF THE EIGHTH NATIONAL CONTEST "BEST TEACHER OF THE YEAR" ANNOUNCED

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Eight national contest "Best Teacher of the Year"
was held among teachers of Armenian language and literature, history
of the Armenian people, history of the Armenian Church, as well as
science disciplines.
The purpose of the competition is to identify, evaluate and promote
teachers with deep knowledge and skills. 300 teachers participated
in this year contest, 41 out of whom reached the final stage.
The teacher of the Armenian Church history Astghik Khachatryan
(Gyumri, school number 11), teacher of Armenian language and literature
Margarita Khachatryan (Vanadzor School number 5), teacher of History
of Armenia Hasmik Ghaplanyan (Vaharshapat school number 2), biology
teacher Anahit Gevorgyan (Razdan School number 11) became winners.
8 teachers were awarded the second prizes, and 16 - the third prizes.
39 teachers were awarded certificates and cash prizes and spiritual
literature.
Award-giving ceremony was held at the Holy See Echmiadzin and attended
by the RA minister of education and science of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan.
The Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II said: "Blessed is the
teacher's work, it resembles the work of Jesus Christ, who became a
teacher. Education will save the world."
Competition is supported by US Armenians sisters Silva and Irma
Ter-Stepanian.
