Conflict settlement is impossible without Karabakh's direct
participation in talks: Bako Sahakyan

In order to achieve a final and comprehensive settlement of the
Nagorno Karabakh conflict first of all it is necessary to restore the
full negotiation format, i.e. negotiation with the participation of
the Artsakh Republic as a full member, Artsakh Republic President Bako
Sahakyan said in an interview with Interfax news agency.
To do so, according to Mr Sahakyan, the parties should follow the
decision made in 1994 at the OSCE Budapest summit.
"The Karabakhi-Azerbaijani conflict resolution is simply unrealistic
without our participation as a full negotiation party. International
mediators, such as OSCE Minsk Group co-chairpersons also accept. We
are ready to hold direct talks with Azerbaijan and to discuss any
issue, and we have always been saying it," said Mr Sahakyan, adding
that Karabakh's opinion in the settlement is simply impossible to
ignore, even if the negotiation format was distorted due to
Azerbaijan's destructive policy.
"I think the resumption of the full negotiation format is simply a
matter of time," noted Bako Sahakyan.
In his words the greatest achievement of the negotiation process is
the preservation of peace.
Further Mr Sahakyan said that even the Artsakhi people are thankful to
Armenia for defending Artsakh's interests in the negotiations, without
NKR's direct participation the settlement of this conflict would be
impossible.
