"Recognition of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic does not run counter
to international law," Head of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation
(ARF) Bureau's Hay Dat and Political Affairs Office Kiro Manoyan told
a press conference today.
"The ruling on Kosovo was not a precedent. The decision was made on
the basis of the precedents of the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries,"
he added.
Kiro Manoyan considers that the recognition of Nagorno Karabakh
by Armenia should derive from the logic of the talks, and it's not
expedient at this point.
"It does not mean, however, that Armenia should not work in the
direction of recognition of NKR's independence by other countries. The
Diaspora is taking indirect steps in that direction," Kiro Manoyan
said.
