NEW YORK'S "RADIO POZITIV" APOLOGIZED TO LISTENERS FOR MISCONCEPTION OF AZERBAIJANI FOLK SONG

Radio station "Radio Pozitiv", broadcasting in New York in Russian
and possessing a wide audience, apologized to the audience for naming
Azerbaijani folk song "Sari Gelin" (Sarı GE~Ylin) as Armenian one,
said in the statement of the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the UN.
During the broadcast on July 28 this year, Azerbaijani folk song
"Sari Gelin" (Sarı GE~Ylin) was named as the song of the Armenian
musician Jivan Gasparyan "Gornaya nevesta" (Mountain Bride).
In response, the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the UN had
contacted the radio station, asked to announce the fact of error
in previously announced information and to announce that the song
"Sari Gelin" is the Azerbaijani folk song.
The request was satisfied. "Radio Pozitiv" announced the error and
apologized for it.
