YEREVAN, AUGUST 13, ARMENPRESS: Community Art Summer Festival, which
is entitled 'Rendezvous on Borders', will be held August 18-21 in
Ijevan, province of Tavush. The festival is designed and conducted by
the students of the 'Designing and Covering Art' educational project
of Art Critics Association as a graduate work.
The program of the festival involves various events - exhibition,
practical course, lecture-discussion, group discussion on the world
symposium of sculpture, presentation of archive materials, separate
presentations and artistic performances. The organizers say all the
projects unite the interest in the social, historical, scale and
image parts of the urban environment.
'The festival has 4 main elements - continuation of the seminars,
held earlier, exhibitions, exposition of art works, conclusion and
presentation of the works, implemented within a year,' said Nazaret
Karoyan, art critic, chairman of the Art Critics Association. He stated
at today's meeting with journalists that the events are intended to
be held in various places due to the collective and personal efforts
of artists.
The main value and significance of the festival is the decentralization
of art, according to Harutyun Alpetyan, student, organizer of the
festival. He says this is the reason the festival is held in Ijevan.
Representatives of 20 countries will partake in the festival. The
festival is being held under the auspices of Tavush Governor's Office
and Municipality of Ijevan, in partnership with YSU Ijevan branch
and Tourism and Business Information Center of Ijevan.
