TSAKHKADZOR, JUNE 29, ARMENPRESS: "The Armenian Literature Armenian
Citadel" 5th All-Armenian conference of writers officially launched
today in Tsakhkadzor organized by the Diaspora Ministry and Armenian
Writers' Union. Chairman of the union Levon Ananyan said that the
launch to the all-Armenian conferences was given still in 2002 after
which once in two years the conferences were organized.
"During those eight years we have assembled enough experience and today
we may state for sure that Armenian Writers' Union has become a circle
linking all Armenian writers. We managed to bring the writers living
in abroad to a competitive field and together with the Armenia-based
writers compete on equal platform," Levon Ananyan said.
According to him, it may be said that Homeland-Diaspora general
literary field has been created, corresponding ties have been
consolidated. "There is no writer in Armenia and Diaspora who
irrespective of political views will not feel responsible for the
consolidation and development of our literature," Levon Ananyan said,
adding that the number of participants this time is unprecedented 80
writers from 20 countries, and about 250 writers of Armenia out of
350. Referring to the selection of title, Levon Ananyan noted that
Armenian literature has always been a citadel of the Armenian spirit
and today too it has the same mission.
