CRAIG BARRETT SAYS SKILLS OF ARMENIAN IT SPECIALISTS SATISFYING

YEREVAN, JUNE 29, ARMENPRESS: 'We do not have any displeasure about
the skills and professionalism of the Armenian IT specialists,'
Craig Barrett, former chief executive of the 'Intel' corporation,
said at today's meeting with journalists. Mr. Craig Barrett was
awarded June 28 the prize of RA President for the investment in the
international sphere of Information Technology. According to Craig
Barrett, in case strong cooperation is established between the higher
educational establishments and the private sector, the IT sphere of
Armenia will be more developed.
Craig Barrett also informed that during the meetings with the
authorities of the Republic they discussed a number of issues
on organizing trainings and computer courses for the teachers of
elementary classes. Mr. Craig Barrett expressed hope that concrete
steps will be undertaken in this direction. He underscored the
importance of the fact that during the meetings the President, Prime
Minister and Minister of Economy of Armenia 'spoke the same language'
and stated that IT development is a priority for the development of
the Armenian economy.
