ARMENIAN PRESIDENT PAYS WORKING VISIT TO ARMAVIR PROVINCE

YEREVAN, JUNE 29, ARMENPRESS: Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan left
today for the Armenian province of Armavir on a working visit. The
president participated in the opening of the main building of the
renovated medical center of Armavir, got acquainted with the building
and laboratory condition of the center. The upgrading of the center
has been implemented as a result of cooperation of the Armenian
government and the World Bank within the framework of "Upgrading
of Armenia's healthcare system" loan program and dictated by the
optimization strategy of the Armenian healthcare system the goal of
which is the increase of efficiency of the activity of the medical
establishments and increase of their quality.
Presidential press office told Armenpress that the leader of the
country also visited the reconstructed children's chess school of the
town of Armavir. He toured in the school, watched the chess tournament
conducted there.
Afterwards, Serzh Sargsyan discussed the social-economic issues of
the province with the governor of the province Ashot Ghahramyan.
Within the framework of the working visit the president also visited
Myasnikyn community where he participated in the opening of "Jesus'
Children" health center. The newly constructed building was blessed by
His Holiness Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II. The center was
built by "Pakumean Family" benevolent foundation with the assistance
of a number of philanthropists.
During the tour the founder of the foundation and head of the board
Karo Armen and philanthropist George Pakumean presented to Serzh
Sargsyan other programs of the Children of Armenia Fund directed toward
the solution of social issues, economic development, improvement of
infrastructures, healthcare and education.
"I am very glad that here in this community a group of patriots
launched an activity and their goal is to do only good and to lighten
the cares of their compatriots. I know Mr. Karo Armen for already
six years and during these years the enthusiasm of this person has
not reduced, just the opposite, it acquired associates and carried
out new kind works," Serzh Sargsyan said, handing to Karo Armen
passport of a citizen of the Republic of Armenia. The president of
the country said that all the Armenians spread in the world must be
sure that they always have place in Armenia for living, acting and
carrying out benevolent activity.
Head of the Children of Armenian Fund said that it is a great honor
for him to be citizen of the Republic of Armenia and noted that it is
a special pride to get the passport personally from the President of
the Republic. Karo Armen assured that the biggest honor for diaspora
Armenian is the national belonging.
