RA PRIME MINISTER CONGRATULATES FORMER CHAIRMAN OF "INTEL" CORPORATION BOARD ON RECEIVING RA PRESIDENT'S AWARD

YEREVAN, JUNE 29, ARMENPRESS: Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan
received today former chairman of the board of "Intel" corporation
Craig Barrett. Governmental press service told Armenpress that
welcoming the guests the Prime Minister congratulated C. Barrett
on RA President's award given for the outstanding contribution to
information technologies.
The interlocutors discussed the prospects of implementation of joint
programs. Particularly, the process of the cooperation extended within
the frameworks of "World Ahead" program was referred. The program
intends ensuring schools with computers and implementation of s on
teacher training programs.
Tigran Sargsyan pointed out the importance of establishment of a
joint scientific-research center, which was welcomed by the former
chairman of the board of "Intel" corporation.
Speaking of the visit to Silicon Valley within the frameworks of
"ArmTech-2009" forum, the head of the government referred to the
activity of venture funds and attached importance to applying the
experience of "Intel" corporation in establishing a venture fund
in Armenia.
The parties exchanged ideas over the concept on electronic society
approved by the Armenian government. The prime minister informed about
the consulting body subordinated to the electronic management council
under the head of the prime minister and invited the former chairman
of the board of "Intel" corporation to participate in its works.
