YEREVAN, JULY 23, ARMENPRESS: `It is the first time when the
International Court of Justice (ICJ) clearly registers the priority of
the people's right to self-determination over the right of territorial
integrity. It is a very important and historic decision,' chairwoman
of the NA's Eurointegration affairs standing committee, member of the
`Prosperous Armenia' party Naira Zohrabyan said, commenting on the
ruling of the ICJ about Kosovo's declaration of independence saying it
does not violate any international law. Naira Zohrabyan added that the
usage of the right of people to self-determination is the basic aim of
the UN. `It may have a practical significance for us as we can show
the international community that the right to self-determination has
been practically applied as well as has got de jure grounding,' she
    pointed out.

As representative of the Armenian delegation to the Council of Europe
Parliamentary Assembly, in her coming speeches Naira Zohrabyan is
going to make references on the speeches of representatives of other
countries, particularly Great Britain's representative who without any
duality noted that any people have right to free self-determination.
In response to the question whether after this ruling Armenia will
recognize Nagorno Karabakh's independence, she noted that as far as
the Armenian authorities see negotiation resources it is not expedient
    yet.
