    ArmInfo. The premiere of the documentary "Sumgait, February 1988" shot
    within the frames of the project "Ordinary Genocide" will be shown on
    the Public Television of Armenia on May 15.

    The film is based on exclusively documentary materials. Moreover, the
    excusive video and photo materials, evidence of witnesses, materials
    of investigation and judicial proceedings will be demonstrated for the
    first time. The do not only reveal the truth about the events in
    Sumgait, but also prove that the crime was organized by the special
    services and authorities of Azerbaijan, as well as prove the criminal
    role of the Soviet Union leadership. The authors of the project
    qualify this as a film-accusation of crime against humanity committed
    in Azerbaijan on 27-29 Feb 1988, tribute to memory of the tragedy
    victims, as well as appeal to the international community to recognize
    and condemn the organizers and culprits of "Sumgait".

    The film about the events in Sumgait and the project in general are
    called up to disperse the distortions of recent history by means of
    unique and sensational archive materials. The Armenian and Russian
    versions of the film are ready and currently being disseminated in DVD
    format. The English, French and Arab versions are still being made.
    "Sumgait, February 1988" is the second film from the "Ordinary
    Genocide" series.

    The "Ordinary Genocide" project is implemented by the Center for
    Information and Public Relations of the Armenian Presidential
    Administration. The premiere of the first film "Baku, January 1990"
    took place in January 2010. The film was translated into several
    foreign languages and is being disseminated in DVD format and
    internet.
