YEREVAN, APRIL 20, ARMENPRESS: More than 200 silver trees were
planted in the Memory Alley of Tsitsernakaberd Memorial, vice director
of the Genocide Museum-Institute Arpine Bablumyan said speaking to
Armenpress. Since the establishment of the museum the delegations that
visited the memorial planted silver trees. During the years the Alley
expanded and now, the vice director said, they have territory problem.
A row is separated in the Alley for presidents of different states.
Presidents of Georgia, Russia, France, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine,
Romania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Tajikistan planted silver trees.
Bablumyan noted that there are such types of trees who were said
to have problems in growing here because of unfavorable climate
conditions, but the time showed that they accommodated to our climate
and are growing.
The museum is attentive and takes care of all the trees. The deputy
director said the officials who planted trees in the Alley during
the previous years, visiting for the next time, water them.
"A beautiful tradition is being formed. For instance Baroness Caroline
Cox every year visits Armenia and comes to Tsitsernakaberd, waters
the tree she planted", she said.
The museum has two commemoration books - one is intended for official
delegations, the other for common visitors. Bablumyan noted that the
visitors put down notes, presenting their impressions.
